The amount of space needed to fit a decent amount of storage continues to fall and Verbatim has created the smallest USB 2.0 flash drive I have yet seen. It’s called the Store ‘n’ Go Netbook USB drive and manages to offer 8GB, 16GB, or even 32GB of storage in a drive that protrudes just 5mm when inserted.

The Netbook in the name is relevant as you can just slot this into a netbook or laptop and forget its there. Use it as a permanent backup drive, or pull it out and throw it in your wallet. It’s smaller than a Euro according to Verbatim as the image above demonstrates.

The drives dimensions are 17.15 x 14.85 x 7.7mm and it weighs just 2 grams. It does not come with a cap as Verbatim expect you to leave it plugged in all the time. It works with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. Prices start at around £10 with a two-year warranty.

It’s arguable that the Super Talent Pico-C 64GB USB drive classes as a smaller unit, but the Store ‘n’ Go is better suited to being inserted and forgot about due to its shape and protective casing.
